Two New Players Hit Waivers Including Veteran Goalie Who Could Potentially Replace Primeau

We have more action on the NHL waiver wire, and once again, interesting news for Montreal Canadiens fans.

First, note that goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen has been claimed by the Winnipeg Jets!

Kahkonen, 28, is a 6-foot-2, 217-pound goaltender. Over his NHL career, in 140 games, he has a save percentage close to .900 and a record of 49-68-15.

Two New Names Available, Including a Replacement for Cayden Primeau?

With all eyes on Primeau, who could be replaced at any moment by the Canadiens' management, a veteran goaltender has just become available for free today.

A veteran who could serve as a Jake Allen type for Montreal.

At 36 years old, James Reimer is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound goaltender. In 503 career NHL games, he has a goals-against average of 2.89 and a save percentage of .910 (215 wins and 179 losses).

Last season with the Detroit Red Wings, he posted a record of 11-8-2 with a save percentage of .904.

At 26, Riley Stillman is a left-shot defenseman with 26 points in 158 career NHL games (104 penalty minutes).
