Major statement from Captain Patrice Bergeron following last night's game, and the verdict on his injury has already been announced
Last night, in a press conference following the surprising defeat of his team against the Florida Panthers, Captain Patrice Bergeron made a major statement.
"Patrice Bergeron says he will take time to decide on his future in the NHL; he wants to let the dust settle before making a final decision."
Many believe that he played his last career game in the NHL last night, but let's wait and see. He wants to discuss it with his family, which is perfectly normal.
A serious injury
As my colleague Alex Desrosiers points out, the most significant part of Bergeron's statement is when he revealed that he played the entire series with a significant herniated disc.
He played despite that, and he played very well! A true professional!
Everything indicates that Bergy has played his final game in the NHL but we'll wait for an official confirmation.
A situation to closely follow with the Bruins, and we cannot emphasize enough how much we have the utmost respect for the person and the hockey player that is Patrice Bergeron.
