Surprising scene outside the Golden Knights' arena last night
Imagine the reactions and celebrations outside the Bell Centre if the Montreal Canadiens won the Stanley Cup again.
Last night, following the conquest of the Vegas Golden Knights, journalist Luc Gélinas of RDS posted a surprising video of the scene outside the T-Mobile Arena after the match.
See the result.
"The Golden Knights fans are passionate, they sing, they dance, and they scream. They know their hockey more than you think... but they didn't celebrate the Stanley Cup very loudly.
Upon exiting the building after the match, it was almost like the regular season." - Luc Gélinas
It was surprisingly quiet:
This happened a few minutes after Gary Bettman famously described Las Vegas as being a truly passionate hockey city.
As Gélinas rightly mentions, credit must be given to Vegas fans, but Las Vegas is not a true hockey city in the same vein as Montreal, contrary to what Bettman seems to think.
