Ken Hughes and Jeff Gorton will be able to evaluate the current staff and prepare for the next season, which could be a key part of the team's rebuilding process.
While there are some untouchables in the organization, there are others that one might wonder if they are in the Habs plans and one of the names that comes to mind is Josh Anderson.
The latter is on his way to reaching the 20-goal plateau for the first time since his arrival in Montreal, but some experts still have their doubts about him and his name has been circulating a lot in various trade rumors for a little over a year.
That said, as reported by Vincent Fournier of LetsGoHabs.com, a well-connected tipster recently discussed No. 17's future with the Habs, and let's just say both sides of the coin are discussed.
During his appearance on TSN 690, Darren Dreger raised two very interesting points about Josh Anderson.
First, he mentioned that he sees him being a true leader with the Habs for years to come as he brings character and experience to this team.
But Dreger also said that if Kent Hughes ever truly intends to go after another first-round pick in the next draft, Anderson could very well be used as bait to lure another first-round pick to Montreal.
That answers the question of whether Anderson could be traded this summer. It depends on that.
As we know, Kent Hughes has often mentioned that he would not trade his power forward unless he received an offer he could not refuse.
Could this offer come at the next NHL draft in June in Nashville?
You never know.
