As we mentioned this morning, Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St-Louis made the decision not to hold a morning skate.

Therefore, we had to wait for the press conference of the day to find out about the lineup changes for the game against the Detroit Red Wings.

We were particularly curious to see who would replace Owen Beck, who was reassigned to the Laval Rocket yesterday morning.

We now have our answer.

Martin St-Louis makes an announcement regarding the lineup for the game against the Detroit Red Wings, and Owen Beck's replacement is revealed

In a press conference in the last few minutes live from Michigan, St-Louis confirmed that it will be Michael Pezzetta who will be inserted into the lineup in place of Beck.

Pezzetta, 26 years old, has played between 2 minutes 58 seconds and 4 minutes 32 seconds in his last six games with the Canadiens.

He has no points, a -1 plus-minus rating, and six penalty minutes

One key point for him tonight will be to stay disciplined. He is likely to act as the 12th forward.

In front of reporters, Martin St-Louis was also asked about the possibility of using 11 forwards and 7 defensemen to insert Jayden Struble into the lineup, and he mentioned that anything is possible.

But for now, he will continue to rely on Pezzetta.

The other announcement is not surprising, but the Montreal Canadiens confirmed that Samuel Montembeault will indeed be in net for his team tonight in Detroit.

Details will follow.
