We have had a last-minute announcement involving a former Montreal Canadiens player!
A name well known to fans, Nathan Beaulieu, has found a team in the NHL.
He just signed a professional tryout contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Carolina Hurricanes have just granted a professional tryout contract to Nathan Beaulieu!" -Walt Ruff
Beaulieu, 30 years old, was of course a 1st round pick of the Canadiens in 2011 (17th pick overall). He has accumulated 98 points in 471 career games in the NHL.
Last season with the Anaheim Ducks, Beaulieu gathered 4 points in 52 NHL games, and 1 point in four AHL games.
