Last-minute surprise on the National Hockey League waivers as the Montreal Canadiens see several of their former players available
There was action on the NHL waivers in the last few minutes, and we even have a surprise.
Here's the complete list of players currently available for free.
In this list, we notably find some former first round picks, like Jakub Zboril and Shane Bowers. We also find some former Montreal Canadiens players, like Kale Clague and Cale Fleury. However, it's a player who fits both criteria mentioned above that's the biggest surprise.
Denis Gurianov is on waivers.
The 12th overall pick (1st round) from the 2015 draft is already placed on waivers by the Nashville Predators. Wow.
He is therefore released even before playing a game with them, after signing a new contract and after all the encouraging statements from Nashville.
We will find out tomorrow, at 2 p.m, who gets claimed.
More details to come.
