Latest news on the acquisition and waiver claim of six feet three inches tall goaltender Spencer Martin
Yesterday afternoon, several names were placed on the National Hockey League's waiver list, including the promising young defenseman Ty Smith, but in the end, only one player was claimed, and it's a goaltender.
Spencer Martin has been claimed by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Recall that, following the acquisition of Casey DeSmith from the Montreal Canadiens, the Vancouver Canucks sent Martin to waivers.
He has now effectively been claimed by Columbus.
Martin is a goaltender of 6 feet 3 inches and 191 pounds. He played 29 games for the Canucks last season, and he will now attempt to secure a position with the Blue Jackets.
If Martin has been claimed, it doesn't necessarily bode well for hoping that Cayden Primeau can freely join the Laval Rocket.
More details to follow.
