Liam Foudy has just been claimed off waivers: Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens have decided to pass on him, and he's headed to Nashville
We mentioned it yesterday, but we had a big surprise in the NHL waivers when the Columbus Blue Jackets decided to place the name of the speedy forward Liam Foudy, a 23-year-old first-round pick, on waivers.
We suspected he would be claimed, and that was indeed the case!
Foudy claimed!
Foudy, 23, is a very fast forward, standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 188 pounds. He was drafted in the first round (18th overall pick) by Columbus in 2018.
He is still young and is an elite skater.
He has scored around twenty points in his NHL career, at 23 years old, and 35 points in 41 games in the AHL.
Foudy has just been claimed off waivers by the Nashville Preds
He was indeed claimed by Nashville, which means that Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens passed on the young Foudy.
The Canadiens had priority over the Predators on the waivers, based on their final standings position from last season.
Are you surprised? Would you have preferred to keep Armia with the Laval Rocket and claim Foudy?
