Major: The two Habs Players the Jets Wanted for Dubois are finally revealed
While the Montreal Canadiens are set to face the Los Angeles Kings today in California, journalist Alexandre Gascon took the opportunity to publish a very interesting article on Pierre-Luc Dubois.
CH fans know him well, obviously because rumors have been sending him here practically since the moment he was drafted in 2016.
It almost happened before his trade to the Jets, and it almost happened before his trade to the Kings.
In short, Gascon just added another layer.
According to his report, the starting point for negotiations for a trade between the Canadiens and the Jets was indeed Kirby Dach.
The Jets Wanted Dach or Guhle for Dubois
The Jets indeed absolutely wanted Dach, and Hughes was not going to do that.
At a certain point, the Jets agreed to "bend", to replace Dach in the trade and to "settle" for Kaiden Guhle. (With huge quotation marks)
Again, with good reason, Kent Hughes was never going to do that and he did well.

We wouldn't, even though we like Dubois and would have liked to see him with the Tricolore. The price was therefore too high.

1st negotiation - Dubois vs Dach, refused by Kent Hughes.
2nd negotiation - Dubois vs Guhle, refused by Kent Hughes.
