As one of the last major issues to be resolved with the Montreal Canadiens, particularly in front of the net with Cayden Primeau, insider Renaud Lavoie just made a very interesting statement.

"What do we do with Cayden Primeau? The logical choice would be Laval. However, he's only 24 years old and he's having a good camp. I'm not telling you he'll definitely be claimed on waivers, but the Canadiens would be taking a huge risk. He could be a regular NHL goaltender and if you lose him, the team could regress! [...] The ideal would be to trade him!" - Renaud Lavoie, on BPM Sports airwaves

Interesting! So, he believes the ideal move would be to trade Primeau, and not Jake Allen.

Renaud adds that at this stage, the Habs still haven't made a decision regarding Primeau.

Probably a team like the Tampa Bay Lightning would be interested in acquiring him, but it remains to be seen.

In recent interviews, Primeau clearly stated that his priority is to play in the NHL, whether it's in Montreal or elsewhere.

Remember, of course, he is eligible for NHL waivers and must go through it before potentially thinking about joining the Laval Rocket.

The Canadiens have until next Monday, 5 p.m, to make their final decision.
