Clearly, Sportsnet informant Elliotte Friedman seems to be well aware of the negotiations for a possible trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Edmonton Oilers involving a goaltender.

He talked about it a few days ago to mention that it's a real possibility and that the three goaltenders of the Canadiens are targeted by the Oilers, and now he has just added more this morning.

After indeed mentioning that the three goaltenders of the Canadiens interest the GM of Edmonton (Allen, Primeau, and Montembeault), Friedman has just mentioned this.

It would be more Primeau and Montembeault

According to the new information, Jake Allen would therefore be the least likely of the three to be sent to Edmonton.

"Friedman talking Oilers interest in Habs goalies (32TP): "The Oilers were there to see all 3 Montreal goalies play. They saw them all.. I think Allen is the least likely of the 3...I do think those are two of the guys Edmonton is looking at (Montembeault & Primeau)".

Wow. We would still be surprised if Montembeault is traded to the Oilers, to be honest, but it seems to be a possibility.

Our prediction would be Cayden Primeau, but to be continued.

One thing is certain, if the young Primeau is ever placed on NHL waivers, be sure that the Oilers will jump at the opportunity.

Details will follow, but everything indicates that Kent Hughes' solution to his surplus of goaltenders involves Edmonton.

Everything indicates that talks are underway for a trade.
