On the waves of the podcast "32 Thoughts", the renowned insider Elliotte Friedman just announced that the Los Angeles Kings have placed a young forward on the trading block.

Arthur Kaliyev to be traded soon by the Los Angeles Kings?

See what he just declared.

"32 Thoughts Podcast, On Los Angeles: Elliotte says he thinks they will move Kaliyev now and that it's been made clear behind the scenes his time has come to go somewhere else. He thinks the team would move him for a depth player with some edge.." - Via NHL Trade Alert

This is very clear and could certainly interest Kent Hughes, Jeff Gorton, and the Montreal Canadiens, especially since the Kings would be very interested in goalie Jake Allen.

This seems to be a logical return and transaction for everyone.

"Arthur Kaliyev: A big 22-year-old guy who scores goals. But doesn't only do that!

He's having a season below expectations in Los Angeles but I would be curious to see what a change of scenery could bring him.

An interesting project for the Montreal Canadiens." - Via Marc-Olivier Beaudoin

I think I prefer a young player like Kaliyev, rather than a mid-draft pick, if Kent Hughes really wants to trade Allen.

What about you?

Kaliyev, 22 years old, is a 33rd overall pick of the Kings in 2019. He accumulates a solid 70 points (34 goals) in 175 career NHL games, including 14 points in 38 games this season and 28 in 56 last year.

He has the potential to be a 25-30 goal scorer.

In his only season in the AHL, he amassed 31 points in 39 games.
