The Calgary Flames have placed a surprising player on waivers, and it could be a huge opportunity for the Canadiens
There has been action on the NHL waivers in the last few minutes.
The Calgary Flames have just submitted the name of 31-year-old defenseman Jordan Oesterle.
Oesterle, a left-handed D-man, has accumulated 84 points and 67 penalty minutes in his NHL career over 353 games.
He has not scored any points in four games this season.
Last season, with the Detroit Red Wings, he collected 11 points in 52 games.
This comes as unexpected news for Oesterle, particularly because he has not played in the AHL for nearly 10 years, and he has always been considered a solid third-pairing defenseman.
A verdict will follow tomorrow.
An NHL regular on waivers, do you believe he will be claimed? He earns $925,000 per season.
