The New Jersey Devils have acquired Chris Tierney
In the last few seconds, the New Jersey Devils have announced the signing of forward Chris Tierney. A two-way, one-year contract worth $775,000.
Tierney, 29 years old, is a center measuring 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 191 pounds. He accumulated 7 points in 23 games with the Montreal Canadiens last season, and 16 points in 20 games with the Laval Rocket.
He had nearly amassed 50 points in 2019 with the Ottawa Senators.
He is therefore officially leaving the Montreal Canadiens organization.
Kent Hughes had claimed him off the NHL waivers last February from the Florida Panthers, but Tierney had not yet signed a contract with the team.
He is now heading to New Jersey and we wish him the best of luck with his new club.
