We had some action on the NHL waivers in the last few minutes.

First, we had a surprise as the tough guy Zack MacEwen, who was valued as a 3rd round pick according to Ottawa journalists, was ignored!

This could mean that Michael Pezzetta would not be claimed if he is eventually placed on waivers by Kent Hughes.

MacEwen, 27 years old, is a giant of 6 feet 4 inches and 240 pounds. He has accumulated nearly 300 penalty minutes in 208 career NHL games. (15 goals and 31 points)

Two new players on waivers, including former Montreal Canadien Tyler Pitlick

Indeed, we have two new names on waivers today.

Pitlick, 32 years old, is a 31st overall pick in 2010. He has accumulated 109 points in his NHL career, including 56 goals in 420 games. (four in 34 this season with NY)

He was acquired by the Montreal Canadiens in 2022, from the Calgary Flames, in the Tyler Toffoli trade.

Philp, 28 years old, is a center who has accumulated one point in three career NHL games, and 53 points (29 goals) in 60 games this season in the AHL.

They will know their new team tomorrow, at 2 p.m. Details will follow.
