Insider announces that something is cooking between Patrick Kane and the Habs
The renowned Frank Seravalli announces that Kent Hughes and the Canadiens will submit a contract offer to Patrick Kane.
This is a major and completely unexpected development.
Clearly, Jeff Gorton wasn't joking when he said the Canadiens want to get closer to the playoffs as soon as next season.
Gorton also mentioned that the CH is open to adding a big name in the free agent market, and here it is.
It's happening: the Canadiens are going after star forward Patrick Kane
This will be an extremely fascinating story to follow until tomorrow.
While everyone was expecting Steven Stamkos, it could be Patrick Kane coming to Montreal.

Kane, a first overall pick in 2007, racked up a solid 47 points in 50 games with the Detroit Red Wings in 2023-2024.
He could be a solid complement on a line with Nick Suzuki, or with Kirby Dach.
Remember that Kane had openly criticized the Chicago Blackhawks' decision to trade Dach at the time.
Clearly, he likes him a lot.
