As Kent Hughes remains active in the NHL trade market, a statement from the well-known David Pagnotta has resurfaced.

One of the names Montreal is closely monitoring in the NHL right now is Lawson Crouse.

Lawson Crouse: A Potential Acquisition for the Canadiens?

Here is the exact excerpt:

«David Pagnotta, an NHL insider, recently stated on TSN 690 that Montreal is particularly interested in Lawson Crouse.»

«There are several teams that would like to acquire this young player,» Pagnotta noted. «He's strong, in his twenties, and has an affordable contract.»

The full segment can be found here on TSN 690.

He's definitely a player to watch if the Montreal Canadiens continue to build their desired mix.

Lawson Crouse, 27 years old, is a 6-foot-4, 214-pound forward.

He was selected 11th overall by the Florida Panthers in 2015 (1st round) and now plays for Utah's hockey team.

Over his NHL career, he has recorded 203 points in 532 games, including:

45 points in 77 games in 2023 (24 goals)

42 points in 81 games in 2024 (23 goals)

And this season, he has six points so far.

Do you think he could be an interesting addition for the Canadiens?

He earns $4.3 million per year through 2027, which is indeed reasonable for an excellent third-line player who is as physical as they come.

He may never be a 40-goal scorer, but he's the kind of player who's a nightmare to face, making this a potentially intriguing option.

Would you trade Justin Barron and Filip Mesar for Lawson Crouse and a 4th-round pick?
