Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens have just had the opportunity to acquire a good friend of Juraj Slafkovsky, thanks to the Minnesota Wild.

According to journalist Michael Russo, the Wild did not sign Servac Petrovsky before the deadline. He is therefore eligible to re-enter the 2024 NHL Draft.

Will Kent Hughes be tempted?

Petrovsky, 19 years old, 5 feet 11 inches, and 177 pounds, accumulated a solid 55 points in 57 games this season in the OHL with the Owen Sound Attack.

He was drafted in the 6th round in 2022 by the Minnesota Wild after scoring 109 points in 127 games at ages 17 and 18 in the OHL. We are talking about a very hardworking center.

Servac Petrovsky with Juraj Slafkovsky and the Montreal Canadiens?

And if the Canadiens do not draft him late in the draft and he is not selected elsewhere, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton could still sign him as an "undrafted prospect."

Knowing how much Slovakia supports the Montreal Canadiens, and considering his interesting production, this could be a valuable acquisition for the Habs.

More details will follow.

A name to watch for the 2024 draft, especially for the later rounds.
