This idea was raised by the excellent analyst Marc-Olivier Beaudoin.
Clearly, the 2024 NHL Draft is fast approaching, and excitement is starting to build on social media.
We're seeing numerous rumors, speculations, and information circulating, but it's always fun to put ourselves in Kent Hughes' shoes (just for fun).
Check out Beaudoin's post:
Dickinson is a young defenseman who has been impressing recently and seems to have the profile of a future NHL star defenseman, but the big issue is that he is a left-handed defenseman.
As you know, the Montreal Canadiens simply cannot add more left-handed defensemen.
In response to his question, 30% of fans said they would trade Guhle for Dickinson, 48% said they would not make the trade, while 22% said it was a very difficult decision.
What about you, would you do it?
Dickinson, 18 years old, 6 feet 3 inches, and 205 pounds, is a left-handed defenseman who tallied 70 points in 68 games this season in the OHL.
He was truly impressive in the Memorial Cup and is one of the hottest names heading into the draft.
Personally, I might be tempted to make the trade, simply because of Dickinson's enormous potential and the numerous injuries Guhle has already suffered, but it's extremely tough to trade such a good young defenseman.
Would you accept this hypothetical proposal?
