Oilers and Canadiens completed trade: the Canadiens have fleeced
While the Edmonton Oilers are currently in the Stanley Cup semi-finals against the Dallas Stars, Kent Hughes can still be proud of his move.
One of the Oilers players who is not performing very well right now, and one of the players hurting them with questionable decisions on the ice, is former Montreal Canadien Brett Kulak.
Kulak is notably being talked about a lot in Edmonton today due to the terrible mistake he made last night on the Stars' first goal.

It's a mistake, it happens. However, in Kulak's case, it is unfortunately starting to become repetitive in the current playoffs.
What a trade by Kent Hughes, Jeff Gorton, and the Montreal Canadiens!
Let us recall that Brett Kulak is with the Edmonton Oilers because of the trade concluded between Kent Hughes and Ken Holland on March 21, 2022.
The Oilers sent to the Canadiens: William Lagesson, a 2022 second-round pick, and a 2024 seventh-round pick.
Where it gets very interesting, and quite a steal for the Montreal Canadiens, is when you realize what this 2022 second-round pick from Edmonton has become.
You guessed it. This pick turned into none other than the young Lane Hutson!
Some consider that Hutson today has the value of a 5th overall pick, and maybe even more!
So it's as if Kent Hughes traded Brett Kulak to the Oilers for a 5th overall pick (first round) and a seventh-round pick. Wow.
Imagine if Lane Hutson were with the Edmonton Oilers today!
In short, it's a trade that often goes unnoticed and doesn't get as much talk as those of Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook, but it has been a huge steal by the general manager of the Tricolore.
