Trevor Zegras has been the talk of the town over the last few weeks, and it looks like that could intensify.

Some absolutely want Zegras, others have doubts, but one thing is for sure, this is a matter that is becoming very serious.

Pierre LeBrun drops a huge scoop live on TSN about Zegras and Kent Hughes

Here's what he said:

"I made some calls this week about Zegras (to high-ranking officials in the NHL), and here's what I was told.

I'm going to be cautious, but I can confirm that the Ducks have listened regarding Trevor Zegras.

They didn't call teams to offer him directly, but other GMs called for a trade involving Zegras, and the Ducks didn't hang up. They listened carefully.

It's not a priority for them to trade him." - Pierre LeBrun

And here's the big statement:

"And I can tell you that, among the 4 teams that called the Ducks for a trade involving Trevor Zegras, the Montreal Canadiens are one of them.

The Montreal Canadiens called the Ducks about Zegras. It's confirmed and it's true." - Pierre LeBrun

Wow! So, it will be really interesting to see the outcome of this matter over the next weeks/months, but we can definitely believe in it.

Zegras, 22 years old, was the 9th overall pick in 2019 (1st round) and has accumulated 146 points in 199 career NHL games, including 53 goals.

Cole Caufield's best friend gathered 65 points last season and seven points this season. (injuries)

What would be your offer for Zegras?

Anyway, just knowing that he called the Ducks, we feel like saying: "solid work, Kent Hughes"!
