The Arber Xhekaj situation continues to stir discussions within the Montreal Canadiens organization, as he is currently limited to a seventh-defenseman role.

While he could have been invaluable against Tom Wilson and the Washington Capitals, former player and current BPM Sports radio host Georges Laraque has just made a bold request involving Arber Xhekaj.

Trade Him: Georges Laraque's Call on Arber Xhekaj

Like many fans, Laraque doesn't understand why the Sheriff is once again left out, especially against a team like Washington.

«If Xhekaj isn't playing against Washington, he's useless! Trade him!»

- Georges Laraque

«Xhekaj is going to be traded, forget it.. Look at the team the Canadiens are up against! McIlrath, Duhaime, and Tom Wilson.

If Xhekaj, even though we agree he could improve defensively.. But if you're not using him in a game where you've got three guys who'll be physical, on the road, and make a difference.. Who will you use him against? Against the Ice Capades? This is the type of game where you need Xhekaj in the lineup, exactly!»

- Georges Laraque

Do you agree with him? According to Laraque, if Xhekaj isn't playing a game like tonight's, he no longer has a role with the Montreal Canadiens and should be traded.

This will be an interesting case to follow, as it's becoming clear that when all defensemen are healthy in Montreal, Arber Xhekaj is the odd man out, relegated to the seventh-defenseman role.

Given this, would it be better for him to be traded and get his chance with a team like the Philadelphia Flyers, where he'd be fully utilized? It's a question that, unfortunately, has to be asked.
