The Canadiens' GM will have a lot on his plate in order to improve his team for the upcoming season, and most experts expect him to be active on the trade market, particularly to seek reinforcements for the offense.
However, as reported by the site Marqueur, we must not overlook movements among the defensemen as the Canadiens could very well trade a veteran from the blue line during the summer.
In recent days, the well-known insider David Pagnotta has indeed compiled a list of the 25 players most likely to be traded this summer, and at the 10th spot, we find a certain David Savard.
As we know, the veteran Canadiens defenseman will play the final year of his four-year contract signed in the summer of 2021 during the 2024-2025 season, and according to Pagnotta, three teams are interested in his services.
These teams are the Dallas Stars, the Colorado Avalanche, and the Winnipeg Jets.
These three teams would be very happy to add a quality veteran like David Savard, as he would bring experience to their lineups, and all three teams should be very competitive next season.
And if Kent is unable to trade his defenseman during the summer, he can always count on the trade deadline, as Savard will become a free agent in the summer of 2025.
