Several experts are linking Trevor Zegras's name to the CH, and there's certainly a logic especially since we just learned that it could be over for Trevor Zegras there, but here's another one:
As my colleagues from Marqueur report, a quality forward could be available for the Montreal Canadiens.
Here's a very interesting option for Kent Hughes to add an extremely promising (and already productive) youngster to his top 6 in offense.
He was seen as one of the most dynamic forwards in the entire 2020 draft class.
Rossi, a 9th overall pick in 2020, is a 5-foot-9, 182-pound center who can also excel on the wing.
He has 37 points, including 20 goals, in 72 games this season with the Minnesota Wild.
He has amassed 104 points in 116 games over the past two years in the American Hockey League. He is ready and he is now an NHL player!
Rossi also collected 120 points, including 39 goals, in just 56 games in his last year with the Ottawa 67's of the OHL.
Therefore, he has been very productive EVERYWHERE and it should not be a surprise if he moves to the next level next season and if he amasses 60 points or more.
On the other hand, the Minnesota Wild are openly looking for reinforcements on defense, to support their excellent Brock Faber.
They had traded Kevin Fiala (an excellent forward) for Brock Faber (a defenseman) in a «1 for 1» trade in June 2022.
This could therefore be a great opportunity for Kent Hughes to trade a young defenseman, like Jayden Struble, Jordan Harris, or Justin Barron, for Marco Rossi.
A file to follow!
