It's worth noting that it's particularly interesting for Montreal Canadiens fans to keep an eye on waivers until November 1st, because Kent Hughes has one of the highest priorities for claiming players (based on the team's final standing in last season's overall rankings).
That being said, for the first time in several days, we actually have some action.
As reported by the reputable Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet:
Forwards Julien Gauthier and Adam Beckman are currently available for free via waivers.
Julien Gauthier, 27 years old, is a 6 foot 4, 225-pound forward. He's from Pointe-aux-Trembles, Quebec, and was a first-round pick by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2016, 21st overall.
This season, he has 0 points in 1 game with the New York Islanders, and in his NHL career, he has 41 points, including 19 goals, in 181 games.
He recorded 10 points in 17 games during his last stint in the AHL last season with the Islanders' affiliate team.
Adam Beckman, 23 years old, is a 6'2", 182-pound forward. He has 3 points in 23 NHL games and recorded 69 points in his last 104 AHL games.
He's also known for his incredible 2020 season in the WHL, where he tallied 107 points in 63 games, including 48 goals.
Do you think either of them will be claimed?
