WOW: Kent Hughes just confirmed the trade rumor and reveals when Cayden Primeau or goaltender Jake Allen will be traded
Since the beginning of the season, there has been speculation about when a goaltender, either Jake Allen or Cayden Primeau, will be traded to finally put an end to the notorious trio.
Kent Hughes has always said he is open to keeping the trio for the entire season if necessary, but that it is not his "ideal plan."

On Pierre LeBrun's podcast, he outright confirmed the rumor that he is actively trying to trade a goalie.
He had made a similar statement a few days before trading Sean Monahan, the same a few days before trading Jeff Petry, and also a few days before trading Ben Chiarot two years ago.
Will Jake Allen or Cayden Primeau be next? It certainly seems so!

If it was already interesting to hear him outright admit that he's trying to trade a goalie right now, the general manager of the Canadiens went even further.
For the first time, he has set a deadline for trading Jake Allen or Cayden Primeau.
If it doesn't happen by the trade deadline in a few weeks, a goalie will therefore be traded this summer by the Canadiens!
Thus, the trio will be over, at the latest next year. Good thing!
