We just had a major last-minute development in the Arizona Coyotes saga.
We just learned that the Coyotes' bosses have targeted a new city, in Arizona, to relocate the team. Incredible.
After the monumental failure in Tempe, the Coyotes are now setting their sights on the city of Mesa.
"The Arizona Coyotes have contacted the city of Mesa, and they are targeting the Fiesta Mall Site, to accommodate the team and its arena." - Dennis Welch
This is not a joke, even though it seems like one.
Millions will be invested and months of effort will be made to try to make this project work, but in the end, it will depend again on a public vote. (exactly as in Tempe)
Let's remember that Bill Daly announced yesterday that the Coyotes will play their 2023-24 season in the Mullett Arena. Incredible.
