Major announcement involving Zack Kassian, and a large number of Canadiens fans are reacting
In the last few minutes, forward Zack Kassian, formerly of the Montreal Canadiens, has officially announced his retirement from hockey.
This means that he had a memorable moment, in his own way, in his last game at the Bell Centre by putting on a show and agreeing to drop the gloves against Arber Xhekaj.
Kassian, 32 years old, was drafted in the 1st round (13th overall pick) in 2009 by the Buffalo Sabres.
In 661 career NHL games, he accumulated:
92 goals
203 points
913 penalty minutes.
He was traded to the CH in 2015 in the Brandon Prust deal, but he was involved in a road accident in Montreal during training camp and never played a game for the organization after that.
