Just over a week after Patrice Bergeron's major announcement, who officially retired from the National Hockey League, another big name from the Boston Bruins is about to follow suit.

Another center player, which will obviously hurt the Bruins a lot.

Over the past few hours, journalist Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now reported that forward David Krejci is about to announce his retirement as well.

He reportedly doesn't even intend to play in Europe, it would simply be over for him.

"According to an NHL source, long-time Bruins center David Krejci will announce his retirement from the NHL and hockey in general 'very soon', but he could still represent the Czech Republic at the 2024 World Championships." - BHN

This is another major loss for Boston. A big chapter is turning there.

Krejci, 37, who was drafted by the Bruins in 2004 and who played his entire career in Boston, has amassed 786 points in 1032 games. (128 points in 160 playoff games)

He collected a solid 56 points in 70 games last season, the third-highest scorer among the Bruins last season behind Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak. (points per game)

The Bruins have therefore lost their two best center players, and also, their 3rd and 4th top scorers.

This will be a big challenge for them.
