The Bruins needed reinforcements, especially in terms of depth in the net, as they have been unable to reach an agreement with restricted free agent Jeremy Swayman.
There are even many rumors suggesting that Swayman could miss the start of the season due to his contract situation and the current negotiation stalemate.
Knowing this, they have dipped into the Habs' pool and just announced the signing of goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
He was solid for the Laval Rockets last season.
This does little to reassure Boston Bruins fans who are hoping to see Jeremy Swayman sign a contract as soon as possible.
Kaskisuo, 30, is a Finnish goaltender standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 194 pounds. He participated in 13 games for the Montreal Canadiens' farm team last season (record of 7-4-0, 2.90 GAA, and a .909 save percentage).
We wish him the best of luck with this new opportunity.
You can certainly follow his new journey in Boston through his popular YouTube channel.
