Rugged Forward Mathieu Olivier Locks in New Contract

Forward Mathieu Olivier has just signed an $18 million contract. This has been confirmed by multiple sources, including Renaud Lavoie (TVA Sports) and Pierre LeBrun (TSN), regarding the rugged Columbus Blue Jackets forward.

"As Darren Dreger suggested last week, he mentioned that this was very likely to happen, and now it's done!

The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed pending UFA forward Mathieu Olivier.

It's a six-year contract with an average annual salary of $3 million per season."

So, it is indeed a total contract of $18 million.

Renaud Lavoie quickly provided the details of Olivier's new contract.

2025-2026: $4,000,000

2026-2027: $3,900,000

2027-2028: $2,900,000

2028-2029: $2,400,000

2029-2030: $2,400,000

2030-2031: $2,400,000

10-team no-trade clause."

28 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall, and 226 pounds, Mathieu Olivier is a forward who has recorded 21 points in 61 games this season, including 12 goals, and has also accumulated 113 penalty minutes.

In his NHL career, he has totaled 55 points in 229 games, along with 352 penalty minutes.
