There is obviously another team involved in these discussions, but especially the Oilers, who have had their share of twists in the past few weeks, particularly with the offer sheets submitted by the St. Louis Blues to Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway.
A Canadian team could be making a move soon!
General Manager Stan Bowman hasn't had his final say.
According to Frank Seravalli, who is one of the top insiders in the National Hockey League, the Oilers currently have a trade possibility on the table that «would shake up the team's lineup.»
Wow! This is also reported by Marco Normandin.
Still according to Seravalli, we're talking about a trade that could be announced before the start of training camp, so within a maximum of two weeks.
We know that the Oilers are looking for a defenseman, we know that Kent Hughes (of the Montreal Canadiens ) and Stan Bowman have spoken recently, and we know that the Habs are involved in several discussions
But despite all that, we absolutely cannot confirm that this trade in Edmonton involves the Canadiens.
So let's just talk about the Oilers for now, but keep that as a possibility in mind.
In any case, know that the Oilers are quite possibly about to announce a trade, according to Frank Seravalli, and know that Kent Hughes is among the few NHL GMs who can help Edmonton right now.
We have action on the market again! More details to follow.
Here is his exact statement:
