The Montreal Canadiens' fifth round pick in 2020, goaltender Jakub Dobes, was just named the NCAA Big-10 Division Player of the Week for the second straight week.
Dobes has been smoking hot, especially this weekend, with performances of 46 saves on Friday and 51 saves on Saturday, both of which represent his highest career save totals.
The 6-foot-5 behemoth is having a dream season with Ohio State University, collecting 18 wins in 26 games. He also has a .938 save percentage and a 1.98 goals-against average. That's absolutely incredible!
You don't hear much about the 20-year-old, yet his presence in net deserves special attention. He may not become Carey Price's successor, but the Habs could very well work side by side with him to make him an NHL goalie one day.
His potential is interesting, a nice project in the making.
