A first CH player breaks the silence on the Jonathan Drouin file: big statement from Jake Allen
Over the past few days, many people, probably too many people, have spoken out publicly about the Jonathan Drouin case.
There's no need to recall the story of his morning wake-up, as you're all very familiar with it.
We simply want to highlight that today, for the first time, a Montreal Canadiens player has broken the silence on the subject.
It's Jake Allen, and he did so brilliantly.
"Jonathan Drouin was playing good hockey before this little storm in Tampa.
"We've all been late for an appointment in our lives. I respect Marty's decision, but also Jo's reaction" - Jake Allen
There you have it. Goalie Allen's words perfectly sum up what we think of this situation as well, and clearly, his teammates are behind him.
He continues:
"It was an unfortunate incident. Jo didn't grumble. That morning, I skated for extra minutes with him and he was giving his all on the ice. He wasn't complaining. He was also answering teammates' questions about our power play; he's a very smart guy. He stayed on the bench, but he was talking to the guys. We all respected his reaction."
Jake Allen
What an exemplary teammate Allen is!
In any case, we're really looking forward to seeing Jonathan back in action tonight, and on the second line (at center) no less!
