The Montreal Canadiens are currently languishing in 30th place in the NHL rankings due to their 1 win to 6 losses record. Dominique Ducharme's team is completely unrecognizable, having made it to the Stanley Cup Final last season.

The team's current performance is not reassuring. It makes you wonder if the Canadiens could win the 2022 NHL draft lottery. Remember that the draft will be held in Montreal this season.

Elliotte Friedman, one of the most renowned journalists in his profession, made a huge suggestion to the Montreal Canadiens. If he were the Montreal staff, he would throw in the towel on this season in hopes of selecting forward Shane Wright.

The young Ontario center is rated as a possible first overall pick in the 2022 draft. He is one of the best prospects in recent years. He is likely to become an impact player in the NHL as he has a special talent.

Just to give you a glimpse of Shane Wright's talent, he scored 66 points, including 39 goals, in 58 games in his first OHL season as a 15-year-old.

Connor McDavid, on the other hand, had 66, including 25 goals, in 63 games in 2012-13 at the same age.

I'm not saying that Shane Wright is the next Connor McDavid, but the chances of him becoming one of the best players in the NHL are high. His potential is incredible and his hockey IQ is much higher than average. In short, a very special player.

Just imagine what the CH center line could eventually look like:

- Shane Wright
- Nick Suzuki
- Christian Dvorak
- Jake Evans

Mouth-watering, isn't it?
