Buffalo Sabres general manager was completely off!
On November 4, the Vegas Golden Knights acquired the services of Jack Eichel with a third-round pick in 2023.
In return, the Buffalo Sabres received forwards Alex Tuch and Peyton Krebs, along with a first round pick in 2022 and a second round pick in 2023.
Sabres GM Kevyn Adams was able to acquire some very interesting pieces in return for his center. However, he HUGELY scaled back his demands as they were very abusive.
According to information leaked by Elliotte Friedman, Adams was literally asking for the moon from the Anaheim Ducks in return for Eichel.
The Sabres wanted no less than forward Trevor Zegras, defenseman Jamie Drysdale and two first round picks in return for the superstar.
The question I have is this: has he fallen on his head?
Yes, Jack Eichel is an incredible player, probably in the top-10 most talented players in the league, but still, it's an exuberant ask.
If I had been Bob Murray back then, I would have immediately hung up the line on Kevyn Adams...
