Dominique Ducharme introduced himself to the media, then announced that Chris Wideman would be out as he flew to join his wife who will give birth to a child in the next few hours.
He also delivered some small tidbits about Jake Evans and Jeff Petry. Even if Evans was on a regular lineup at Monday morning's practice, he remains a doubt. In Petry's case, it's the opposite. He was practicing as an extra on Monday, but he could play tonight.
If Petry doesn't get the nod, Corey Schueneman will be in uniform for his first National Hockey League game.
The coach also talked about his new first powerplay unit, which is likely to be very threatening as it includes the two big guns, Cole Caufield and Mike Hoffman. The two mavericks will be in a specific office to use their favorite weapon (their cannon shot).
Obviously, in front of the net, it will be another start for Jake Allen, who is doing a great job. If his teammates could be as combative as Allen, the Montreal Canadiens would probably be in better shape, even with this long list of casualties.
