It's no secret that the Montreal Canadiens' start to the season has been nothing short of disgusting. The team has only scored three goals in four games, as well as not delivering the goods in terms of effort.
Someone needs to stand up in the locker room. Yes, Jeff Petry and Brendan Gallagher are doing their best to get the club back on track, but it's obviously not enough. The Habs have literally lost their identity and are sorely lacking in leadership.
Carey Price, Joel Edmundson, Paul Byron and Shea Weber are absent, while the organization has failed to bring back underrated leaders like Phillip Danault, Corey Perry and Tomas Tatar. Yes, Tomas Tatar!
Alain Nasreddine, an assistant coach with the Devils, threw flowers at the Devils' newcomer. Remember that Tatar delivered a clever pass to Dawson Mercer last night to score his first career goal.
Tatar is a great hockey player, we all know that, but Nasreddine also praised the Slovak's leadership qualities. An aspect that could clearly help the Habs this year...
Tatar was left out of the playoffs more often than not. Despite this, he kept the best attitude in the world and behaved like a true professional, while constantly encouraging his teammates. If that's not leadership, I don't know what is.
