Connor Bedard had a fantastic world junior tournament. He broke many records even though he is only 17 years old.

The young man was ready to pick up where he left off Sunday night with his junior team, the Regina Pats. He finished his comeback game with four goals and two assists in a 6-2 win over the Calgary Hitman.

"In his 1st game after winning gold for Canada at the World Jr's, Connor Bedard had 4G, 2A and 13 shots on goal in the Regina Pats 6-2 home win over the Calgary Hitmen.

Now at 31 goals, Bedard has a WHL-high 70 points in just 29 games."

Every NHL team that misses the playoffs this season must be dreaming of landing the first pick in this summer's draft. There is no doubt that Bedard will be the unanimous first pick. While he probably won't score as much in the NHL as he did in junior, he will certainly be a very good NHL hockey player for many years to come. It's no wonder you hear last place teams ready to go into tanking mode for one of the most coveted junior players.

On that note, according to Tankathon, the CH currently has a 12.5% chance of getting the first overall pick in the upcoming draft if you combine the club's pick (7.5%) with the Florida Panthers' (5%). Only the Columbus Blue Jackets (13.5%) and Chicago Blackhawks (25.5%) have a better chance than the CH of winning the Bedard lottery.
