It's been a while now since the Habs decided to send young Cole Caufield to the Laval Rocket. The organization has been somewhat lacking in patience with the 20-year-old scorer, and that's even though EVERYONE on the team was struggling.

He only played 10 games with the big club, picking up one assist in the process.

Dale Weise, a former Montreal Canadiens player, did not particularly appreciate the treatment given to the young American by the organization.

According to him, the organization should have left him out of a few games before making such a radical decision as sending him to Laval. He could have reflected on his game from the press box and maybe even learned a few things through introspection.

There were such huge expectations for him, especially with his playoff performance. Weise also referred to Caufield's good friend Trevor Zegras' prediction of a 40-goal season for the Canadiens' prospect.

A young player with that much pressure may have trouble adjusting.

In short, Weise strongly believes that the Canadiens did not handle this situation well. The organization should have been more patient with its young prodigy.

Do you agree with the comments of the former Habs' number 22?
