If one is fully logical, it is easy to see that things are not going well between Jeff Petry and Dominique Ducharme, and Marc Bergevin's situation remains a distraction, as does Geoff Molson's radio silence.
Because of this distance from the public, renowned journalist Chris Johnston (TSN) came to a conclusion, with the information he unearthed, that Bergevin would be replaced. "Berg" would leave this season as soon as Molson finds the perfect French speaking candidate.
If he is replaced by Stéphane Quintal, Vincent Damphousse or Patrick Roy, for example, I imagine that whoever takes the reins will opt for a "reset" in order to get his new club under his control.
From there, maybe veterans like Jeff Petry and/or Ben Chiarot will have to leave for another organization. Chiarot, who will become an unrestricted free agent next summer, has excellent value on the current market.
Other players could move as well, especially if the Habs really decide to stay active in the Samuel Girard file, for example.
