While some may feel that the Montreal Canadiens did not have the team effort to compete with the Kraken, head coach Dominique Ducharme did not.
Instead, he believes his team lacked execution and made recurring mistakes that cut into his players' legs.
On the third goal [by the Kraken], we had the puck on our stick at the blue line and we just lost it," said Habs head coach Dominique Ducharme after the game, not identifying Kulak or Dvorak. It's a play you have to make, keep the puck and make the play. We can't lose the puck like that. We have to be better."
"We fell too far behind, the other team had the pace and for sure they were going to go on strong, they were looking to win their first home game," Ducharme further noted. They kept going and that put us on our heels.
Ducharme also pointed to the fact that his soldiers are constantly playing catch-up hockey. A phenomenon that happens far too often for the Habs.
"The players supported each other and worked well at the beginning of the game, but there was a lack of execution and when you try to get back into a game, that's when you start trying to do too much," blamed Ducharme.
I am bitterly wondering how Dom Ducharme will be able to get his team out of trouble. He will have to find the right words to motivate his squad, because if he doesn't, it will be a very long season in Montreal.
