We are slowly starting to see the end of the tunnel in the Jack Eichel case. The Sabres' star forward is waiting impatiently for a trade and several teams have shown interest since his release.

According to information shared by Frank Seravalli, the Vegas Golden Knights are in the lead to acquire the services of the American center. The Sabres and the Golden Knights are working hard to reach an agreement. The outcome could happen in the next few days.

Eichel is currently, shall we say, in bad shape. He is desperately waiting to have surgery to repair a damaged disc in his neck, with a method the Sabres have flatly refused. The whole thing would delay the transaction process for months, especially since the Sabres are extremely greedy in their demands.

There is no formal offer that has been revealed by Seravalli, but we can imagine. Kevyn Adams has a soft spot for forward Peyton Krebs. That seems like a starting point.

Vegas will likely have to clear some space under the salary cap to have any hope of affording Jack Eichel and his $10 million annually. Who will be the players sacrificed to get the Sabres' superstar? Reilly Smith? Alex Tuch? William Karlsson? Brayden McNabb? All seem to be potential Sabres targets.

Add in some quality draft picks and Jack Eichel could find himself in the Vice City sooner rather than later.
