As you know, next season, the Coyotes will share their arena with the Arizona State University Sun Devils. The worst part of this story is that the NHL team won't even be the main organization in the future arena!
The Suns Devils recently showed pictures of the future amphitheater, which is currently under construction, and it's downright embarrassing for an NHL team...
To add insult to injury for Coyotes fans, the organization has reportedly released information on ticket prices for their upcoming season in their new amphitheater. The ticket prices are simply unbelievable, how are they going to make money?
Although only season and half season ticket prices were released, the average per game ranges from $89 to $445 per game. All this to attend a game in a junior hockey arena. This is absolutely ridiculous!
WHAT'S NEW
We thought we had seen the worst of this story, but no. We have just learned that there is a slight twist in the story.
While the Coyotes announced that they were going to have 5000 seats in their arena (which is already pathetic), it will be less than that.
The Coyotes have officially completed their deal with Arizona State University and the final and official capacity has been revealed: 4700 seats.
The team should play there for the next three seasons, with an option for a fourth year.
Unbelievable honestly... So there will be 300 less seats than announced (for a total of 4700 instead of 5000, which is considerable) and on top of that, the students of the University of Arizona will have an entire section to themselves, with tickets almost given. This still significantly lowers the number of tickets for sale to the general public.
You can guess that there are a lot of reactions and it's another embarrassing turn of events for the NHL, going from a 5000 seat arena, to a 4700 seat arena with less than 4000 tickets to sell.
