We told you on Tuesday, there were several personalities present for the national funeral of the great Guy Lafleur, including NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, and also, the Premier of Quebec François Legault.

Well, we just learned that the two men unexpectedly crossed paths and had a chance to chat.

It turns out that Mr. Legault didn't hesitate to give Commissioner Bettman a little reminder. He told him about the return of the Quebec Nordiques and reminded him that Quebec City is very interested in having an NHL team again.

Instead, Bettman took the opportunity to (once again) tout his deal in Arizona:

"Arizona is a terrific market (...) one of the fastest growing (...) it is not as fragile as some people think" - Gary Bettman
Mr. Bettman also confirms having crossed Mr. Legault at the funeral of Guy Lafleur and the interest of Quebec City was reminded to him. That's all.

- Marc-André Perreault, TVA Sports

Ayoye... Still unreal to hear the commissioner say, being sincere, that Arizona is "an incredible market" and "one of the fastest growing markets". Let's remember that they will play, as a secondary team, in an arena with less than 5000 seats, starting next year. This is embarrassing for the league. We are very far from a market in full progress.

How can Bettman tell us this without laughing?

Commissioner Gary Bettman's statement is being called ridiculous by many.
