After nearly two months, the Habs are finally back in our screens tonight for a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Of course, this is only a warm-up game, but it will be the first meeting between the two teams since the Leafs' surprise elimination last May.
Even though this is the first game of the preseason schedule, both coaches will be sending some big names into the fray. For the Tricolore, the first trio of the last playoffs composed of Suzuki, Toffoli and Caufield will be in the game. Dominique Ducharme has kept this unit intact.
For the Leafs, Sheldon Keefe will be able to count on the return of his captain, John Tavares. Tavares will be back in action for the first time since suffering a serious injury in Game 1 of the series against the Canadiens.
William Nylander will also be in the Toronto lineup as well as defenseman Jake Muzzin. For the Habs, veterans Artturi Lehkonen and Jeff Petry as well as Alexander Romanov and Brett Kulak will also be in the lineup. The Tricolore's new Quebecers, Mathieu Perreault and Cedric Paquette, will also take part in the game.
The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm. The Habs will return to Montreal after the game to host their traditional intrasquad game tomorrow at the Bell Centre in front of 7,500 fans.
