The Habs have the first pick in the upcoming NHL draft and most of the team's fans are obviously hoping that center Shane Wright will be the first selection of Kent Hughes.

While the majority of experts believe Wright should be the first pick, for others it's less clear. As Marco Normandin of Habsolumentfan.com reports, there's one who doesn't even see Wright making the top five.

While on 91.9 Sports, former QMJHL scout Simon Snake Boisvert mentioned not only that Shane Wright was not in his top 5, but that he would see a certain Conor Geekie becoming the very first pick in the draft that will take place at the Bell Centre this July.

But what was most surprising about Boisvert's comments is that Geekie is not even in the top 10 of most experts. It must be said that the former scout often has a different opinion when it comes to evaluating prospects.

Geekie, who has 70 points in 63 games this year with the Winnipeg Ice in the Western Junior League, is currently ranked as the fifth best prospect in North America, but if you look at all the European skaters, he could very well be selected only in the middle of the first round.

But Boisvert added an explanation to all of this. He predicts that the prospects who will be drafted this year will not be as good when they reach the age of 25.

Still a bold analysis, but a bit controversial under the circumstances. Obviously it's still too early to speculate on what all these prospects will do in the next few years, but to exclude Shane Wright from the top 5 is a bit of a stretch in my opinion.
