Following Kirby Dach's recent performances, the youngster is attracting more and more attention.
In particular, the excellent Max Lapierre, of "La Poche Bleue", has just made an intriguing comment.
"If he plays like he did yesterday, Kirby Dach is going to be competing with Nick Suzuki for the starting center position in a few years."
- Max Lapierre That would have been a ridiculous statement a few weeks ago, but now it's hard to disagree with Max, especially since Kirby Dach's ceiling (potential) seems so high. He's just starting to show the extent of his talent and is literally getting better with each game.
What a solid trade by Kent Hughes!
And if we go back to Max Lapierre's big statement, know that he's not the only one:
"Dach > Potential than Suzuki"
- Nicolas Joyal
"Bold prediction: Dach will be better than Suzuki in two years. I'm very serious."
- Max Paiement
Well, that's an interesting debate and an intriguing question to ask, but let's face it, rendered there, it doesn't matter much.
The important thing is that we are fortunate to have these two excellent young center players in Montreal, and that is extremely promising for the future.
This summer, many people drew parallels between the rebuilding of the New York Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens, and we were saying that Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes might try to acquire a new Mika Zibanejad for the Montreal Canadiens (a very promising young center who is on the verge of blossoming)
It looks like Kirby Dach could be the Zibanejad of the CH, a major element of the New York rebuild.
