Game after game, young Cole Caufield keeps increasing the value of his next contract, and according to some, it could even get bigger.
Caufield is currently on a 47.3 goals per 82 games pace (26 goals in 45 games).
There are many different opinions on the famous annual amount of his next contract. Most observers agree that it will be around 8 million dollars.
However, some go further.
Yesterday on "La Poche Bleue", the excellent Guillaume Latendresse said that he would agree to pay Caufield no less than $12 million per year (for 8 years, so $96 million in total) if the young #22 scores 50 goals this season.
Do you agree?
He has a good point. Goals in the NHL are not free.
As Max Lapierre says, there is probably some truth to this, but the final answer is probably somewhere in the middle (between $8 and $12 million per year).
What is your prediction of Cole Caufield's next contract?
